What We Believe

A.
We believe in one God; of one substance, existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; co-equal and eternal.
B. We believe in God the Father Almighty, the creator of Heaven and Earth, of all things that exist, both seen and unseen.
C. We believe in God the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. Under Pontius Pilate He suffered, was crucified, died, and was buried.  On the third day He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father where He now intercedes for us.
D. We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who is equal to and co-existent with the Father and the Son.  He is worshipped and glorified with Them.  He has spoken through the prophets and apostles.  His is the author of scripture.  His role is to convict the world of sin and move people to faith, repentance, and obedience.  At conversion, the Holy Spirit enters and gives the believer spiritual gift(s).  He comforts, guides and empowers the believer.
E. We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired Word of God, inerrant, absolutely authoritative, and infallible.
F. We believe that human beings were created in innocence and in fellowship with God.  In Adam's sin innocence was lost and fellowship was broken.  Since Adam, all human beings are born sinful; alienated from God.
G. Since human beings are not able to repair this relationship with God, the Father sent Jesus; Who for us and our salvation came down from Heaven.  It is only by faith in Jesus Christ, His suffering, death, and resurrection, that we can be saved and have a personal, intimate, and restored relationship with God.  Through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in our hearts that He was raised from the dead, we are declared innocent in God's system of justice and adopted as children of God.
H. We believe the church is the Body of Christ.  Whoever confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior belongs to the universal church.  We believe that all true churches belong to this Body and each local church has the right and responsibility to govern its own affairs.  All believers have received a gift from the Holy Spirit and it is their responsibility to join a local church and exercise that gift for the proper functioning of the Body of Christ through the communion of the saints.
I. We believe that it is the responsibility of all who are saved to seek to win others to Christ.
J. We believe that Christ instituted the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper to be observed until He returns.
K. We look for the personal and imminent return of Christ.  There will be a resurrection of all the dead.  The believers will be raised to eternal blessedness and those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ will be raised to eternal judgment.
